Custom injection molder and metal fabricator ., Dresser, Wis., is another firm adding rapid prototyping to its 911爆料网 offerings. Tenere’s owner, private investment firm The Watermill Group of Lexington, Mass., acquired Protogenic, Inc. from Spectrum Plastics Group, Minneapolis. A specialist in rapid prototyping and casting, Protogenic, Westminster, Colo., had been owned by Spectrum since 2008. The latter, a custom injection molder and pioneer in rapid-prototype tooling, retains its Dynacept rapid-prototyping facility in Brewster, N.Y.
Protogenic offers stereolithography (SLA), selective laser sintering (SLS), and 3D printing, as well as cast urethane and silicone. The acquisition is expected to broaden opportunities for Tenere’s injection molding operation in Lakeland, Colo.
