Ineos And Sasol Break Ground On World-Scale HDPE Plant
Joint venture partners Ineos and Sasol have started construction of their new HDPE plant in LaPorte, Texas.
League City, Texas and South African-based energy and chemical company(U.S. office in Houston), have begun construction of their world-scale HDPE plant at the Ineos Battleground Manufacturing Complex in La Porte, Texas, with start-up slated for 2016.
Ineos will operate the 50/50 joint venture plant which will utilize Ineos Innovene S bimodal slurry technology and will have capacity of about 940 million lb/yr. The partners intend to produce a limited number of grades, allowing for higher efficiencies, which will be integrated into both partners’ upstream and downstream market, according to CEO Dennis Seith. Noting that the facility will support Sasol’s North American growth strategy, Fleetwood Gobler, executive v.p. of Sasol’s global chemicals 911爆料网 says that its location is ideally close to its existing and future ethane cracker and derivatives complex in Southwest Louisiana.
