Marposs Expands Non-Contact Measurement Offerings
Acquisition of Aeroel provides more measurement control options for extruded plastic products and more.
Marposs Corp., Auburn Hills, Mich. (part of Italy’s Marposs S.p.A.), a leading global player in measurement and process monitoring technologies, has acquired Italy’s Aeroel srl, a designer and manufacturer of high-accuracy laser micrometers and laser gauges for non-contact diameter measurement and control.The Aeroel offering is being integrated into the Marposs brand of measurement and inspection offerings, expanding the company’s market reach into areas such as plastics extrusion of tubes, rods, and cables, along with copper wire enamel coating.
Suitable for on-line or off-line application, the Aeroel products are typically merged into an automated solution by machine manufacturers or system integrators. Options are available for on-line and bench-top diameter measurement systems for machined products; measuring extruded products such as plastic pipe, profiles and electrical cables; dimensional control of round or shaped products in wire drawing; dimensional control of magnet wires; and detection of blisters in enamel coatings.
