MATERIALS: DSM To Build First North American Plant For High-Viscosity Nylon 6
High-viscocity nylon 6 grades for flexible packaging to be produced here by DSM.
of The Netherlands (U.S. office in Evansville, Ind.) is investing in its first North American polymerization plant for Akulon high-viscosity nylon 6 for flexible packaging and other extrusion applications.
Flexible films based on Akulon nylon 6 reportedly offer a strong barrier against oxygen and aromas along with exceptional mechanical strength and durability. With construction scheduled to start in fourth quarter and completion targeted for mid-2016, site locations are currently under evaluation. (812) 435-7539 • dsm.com
