Nissei Building First U.S. Plant to Build Injection Machines
It will build hybrid presses from 500 to 1440 tons.
Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. of Japan is building its first U.S. plant to make injection molding machines in San Antonio, Tex. The facility is due to be completed in November and production will start in February 2018. Operated by a newly formed subsidiary called Nissei Plastic Machinery America Inc., the $20 million, 392,040 ft2 facility will perform machining and assembly of Nissei’s hybrid presses from 500 to 1440 tons. The main components will be supplied from Nissei plants in Asia. Nissei’s U.S. sales arm is Nissei America Inc., Anaheim, Calif.
The new plant will include a technical center to provide technical support to customers. It will house demonstration machines for mold and material trials.
