PolyOne Acquires Maker of Colorants for Fibers
Expanding its specialty colorants and additives portfolio, PolyOne now offers colorants for the fibers industry.
Cleveland, Ohio has expanded its colorant and additives portfolio by acquiring from., Florham Park, N.J., Magenta Master Fibers, a developer of specialty color concentrates for the global fiber industry. About 65% of revenues generated by Magenta—which has operations in Milan and Shanghai—are outside of North America.
In addition to accelerating PolyOne’s global growth with local manufacturing and commercial presence in Europe and Asia, the acquisition also extends its reach into strategic end markets such as transportation and consumer goods. Magenta’s colorants span a broad range of uses including clothing and apparel, outdoor equipment, and high-performance products used in the transportation industry. Additional textile growth opportunities to be pursued include applications within the hygiene, healthcare and medical markets. Magenta will operate with PolyOne’s Global Color, Additives and Inks segment, which last month unveiled its new Color Matrix Fiber Colorant Solutions that provide late-stage color injection in fiber applications utilizing liquid colorants.
