Bekum Expands in Michigan
Bekum America completes 40% expansion. Martin Stark retires.
Bekum America Corp. celebrated the completion of its 40% expansion at its Williamston, Mich., headquarters, a project begun in late 2019. The expansion added 38,000 ft2 of manufacturing space and 7400 ft2 of office space to the original 115,000 ft2 at the site. The company says this will enable it to increase machine output, shorten lead times and expand its U.S. workforce. The first machine was shipped from the new assembly hall in May.

Official opening of the facility coincided with Manufacturing Day tours for students and recognizing the contributions of retiring board chairman Martin Stark, who devoted 40 of his 50 years in plastics to Bekum America. Stark is a member of the Plastics Hall of Fame.
