Borealis Completes Acquisition of Integra Plastics AD, Expanding Recycling Capacity
Integra plastics uses optical sorting to capture value in postconsumer waste polyolefins.
The international polyolefin producer announced it has completed acquisition of , a Bulgarian advanced mechanical recycling company. The acquisition is expected to add 20,000 tons of recycling capacity per year. The acquisition was announced in November of 2023 and finalized on April 2, 2024.
Integra Plastics operates an advanced mechanical recycling plant built in 2019, with the ability to recycle postconsumer waste into polyeolefin recyclates for demanding applications, using optical sorting technology.

According to Borealis, the acquisition will strengthen the company’s specialty and circular portfolio, enabling it to meet growing customer demand for sustainable solutions.
