Bridging the Skills Gap

The manufacturing industry in general and injection molding and moldmaking in particular face the dual challenges of a lack of potential candidates applying for jobs and the need to retain the valuable talent they have. That insight, according to a Deloitte report, also found that the net need for new employees in manufacturing from 2024 to 2033 could be around 3.8 million. Of that figure, half — 1.9 million — could remain unfilled if manufacturers are not able to address the skills and the applicant gap.
As part of its at the upcoming PTXPO, a variety of speakers on Monday, March 17, will address that gap and provide best practices and practical knowledge on how to recruit, hire and retain employees. The speakers hail from the molding, moldmaking, training and educational world, bringing their unique insights from those different spheres to their presentations.
