DePoly to Launch Demonstration PET Recycling Facility
Polyester recycling technology will produce feedstocks for production of new plastic.
announced the upcoming launch of a PET recycling showcase plant in Monthey, Switzerland, in summer 2025. The facility’s expected capacity is 500 metric tons (1.1 million lbs) per year. The facility will demonstrate DePoly’s proprietary process that converts PET and polyester waste into virgin-quality raw materials.
According to the company, DePoly technology has already been demonstrated through collaborations with companies in fashion, cosmetics and other consumer goods industries. These partnerships have validated the quality of the recycled monomers by converting PET waste into new bottles, textile fibers and cosmetic packaging.

“The upcoming showcase plant validates our road map to creating a truly circular plastics market. Following our pilot and showcase plant, our next goal is to scale our operations to industrial size with a first-of-a-kind commercial plant based on our technology,” says Samantha Anderson, co-founder and CEO of DePoly.
DePoly is planning to build a commercial plant in 2027 that will process significantly larger volumes of PET and polyester waste. The company has secured a total of $23 million in seed funding with MassMutual Ventures joining a second closing of its round.
“DePoly’s proven technology is a game-changer addressing a crucial industrial and societal challenge. This raise and the showcase plant opening are advancing DePoly’s position as a leader in plastics recycling,” says Alix Brunet, Europe lead at MassMutual Ventures.
