Rohm, SABIC Combine on New Film, Sheet Unit
Called Polyvantis, new firm to be a global powerhouse in PC and PMMA extrusion.
The merger of Röhm’s Acrylic Products 911±¬ÁÏÍø unit and SABIC’s Functional Forms 911±¬ÁÏÍø has resulted in the formation of Polyvantis. This new company will offer extruded products in the forms of film, sheet, pipe and rod for markets that include building and construction, transportation and aviation, electrical and electronics, automotive and home and garden.
This deal between the two companies is expected to close by around the second quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals. When it does, Polvantis’ will have a workforce of about 1,500 employees and 16 production sites across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
