Shell Polymers in Feedstock Agreement With Freepoint Eco-Systems
Freepoint facility will supply pyrolysis oil for conversion into feedstocks for polyethylene.
Shell Polymers announced a feedstock agreement with , which will secure a supply of pyrolysis oil from waste plastics. According to Shell, the partnership will enhance the company’s mass-balanced product offerings, certified by the system.
The Freepoint facility is projected to supply up to 130 million lbs of recycled feedstock annually, upon reaching full capacity in 2025. The facility is located in Hebron, Ohio. Shell Polymers’ Monaca plant is in Pennsylvania, in proximity to 70% of the North American polyethylene market.

“This supplier agreement further strengthens our ability to provide advanced recycling and mass-balanced products backed by ISCC Plus certification,” says Laura Chamorro, GM commercial at Shell Polymers. “We are committed to helping our customers access certified, flexible solutions that support their sustainability goals.”
According to Shell, pyrolysis oil from the Freepoint facility will be used in the production of polyethylene. The agreement does not specify the amount of oil to be supplied.
