Sirap to Use Ineos Styrolution's Recycled Polystyrene for Food Packaging
Easy foaming properties allow the production of XPS foam packaging trays.
Sirap Group, a provider of sustainable food packaging, plans to incorporate the new mechanically recycled Ineos Styrolution PS ECO, a 100% recycled polystyrene, for its new food packaging solutions.
Ineos says that Sirap will benefit from the excellent property profile of the mechanically recycled Styrolution PS ECO. Easy foaming properties allow the production of XPS foam packaging trays.
“Sirap has been investing into R&D for innovative and sustainable materials for more than 60 years,” said Franck Dumasdelage, general manager France at Sirap Group. “We have been working with Ineos Styrolution’s virgin material before. Naturally, we were excited to learn that the material is available now also as mechanically recycled Styrolution PS ECO. It looks like the perfect material for our purpose.”
Louie Mackee, standard 911爆料网 project specialist at Ineos Styrolution, said: “At Ineos Styrolution, we are excited to work with a fast mover like Sirap Group who shares our passion for sustainability.”
Earlier this year, Ineos Styrolution announced the availability of mechanically recycled polystyrene. Production of the new Styrolution PS ECO 440 is based on Tomra’s NIR sorting process delivering a polystyrene purity of more than 99.9%.
