SPE Extrusion Division Holding Tech Program at PTXPO 2023
SPE Extrusion Division joins TAPPI as PTXPO moves to develop educational programming concurrent with the trade show.
The SPE Extrusion Division has organized a technical program to be held in conjunction with the second annual , Plastics Technology’s trade show slated for March 28-30 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
The program will cover both single- and twin-screw extrusion technologies for sheet, pipe/profile/tubing, and compounding. It will be held on Tuesday, March 28, from 1-4 PM. There will be no charge to attend for those who register for the show.
The program lineup is as follows:
1:00-1:45: Compounding Theory and Tips via Twin Screw Extruders: Preparing the Formulation to the Die, Charlie Martin, Leistritz Extrusion
1:45-2:30: Single Screw Extruder and Die Design/Modeling: Preparing the Melt for the Die and Shaping It, John Perdikoulias, Compuplast North America
2:30-3:15 Sizing and Cooling Technologies for Pipe and Profile: Making the Pipe/Profile, Steve Schick, Teel Plastics
3:15-4: Current Extrusion Equipment Technology for Sheet Systems: Making the Sheet: Steven De Angelis, Davis-Standard
The program with the SPE Extrusion Division is the second collaboration PTXPO has made in an effort to add educational components to the three-day trade show. In early January, PTXPO announced it was collaborating with TAPPI on a program focusing on flexible film packaging. TAPPI programming will take place on March 29 between 10 AM and 3:45 PM.
