Uniloy Enters PET Stretch-Blow Market with Assets from Amsler Equipment
Uniloy is now servicing existing Amsler PET machines and equipment and will build new ‘Uniloy SBM’ machines in the future.

Uniloy Inc. has purchased certain assets from the now defunct Canadian maker of PET stretch-blow molding machines Amsler Equipment. Founded in 1994, Amsler Equipment had built all-electric linear machines with one to six cavities and outputs from 1500 to 9000 bottles/hr. It also built trimmers, leak testers and other ancillaries. The purchase marks Uniloy’s entry into PET stretch-blow molding. It will start with providing spare parts and service to existing Amsler Equipment customers. To ensure that all Amsler-branded equipment is supported, Uniloy enlisted the help of former Amsler CEO Bruce Coxhead—who is now Uniloy’s contact person for parts and service of these machines—and other Amsler technical staff. Says Uniloy president and CEO Brian Marston, “Our plan is to reach out to existing Amsler equipment owners and let them know they can now count on Uniloy to support their assets.” All Uniloy’s PET operations are handled from its headquarters in Tecumseh, Mich. This purchase will also allow Uniloy to expand its PET molds offering.
Marston adds that the purchased Amsler assets include machine designs and Uniloy plans to utilize those proven designs on new “Uniloy SBM” branded machines in the future, and will use its own expertise to improve those designs. No timeline for Uniloy SBM machine introduction was available.
