All-In-One Cobot Arm Combines Smart Vision and AI
Techman Robot says its AI Cobot series combines a robotic arm, native AI processing, smart vision system and comprehensive software for a single, simply deployed package.
Taiwanese automation supplier Techman Robot (Taoyuan) has introduced its TM AI Cobot series. The collaborative robot system is built around a robot arm with a native AI inferencing engine and a smart vision system. The company says this complete package comes ready for deployment in factories.
By combining visual processing in the robot arm, the AI Cobot can perform a variety of tasks including fast and precise pick and place; AMR; palletizing; welding; and semi-conductor and product manufacturing, among other operations. The speed with which these are completed can be accelerated by application of AI-Vision.
The integrated AI software suite includes TM AI+ Training Server, TM AI+ AOI Edge, TM Image Manager and TM 3DVisionTM. Techman Robot says these allow companies to train and tailor their system to precisely meet their application. In the release announcing the line, Techman Robot said the AI Cobot series’ native AI engine, robotic arm and vision system represent a perfect combination of “brain, hands and eyes”. Introduced in Asia, with global launch at a future date, the AI Cobot debut model had a 25-kg payload.
In all, the series has six models ranging in payload from 4 to 25 kg, with reach from 700 to 1300 mm. In May 2019, Techman Robot joined into a strategic alliance with OMRON for global distribution. The company is represented by seven distributors in the U.S.
