Gas Dosing System for Foam Extrusion

At , Promix will debut its new NC350 gas-dosing system, which was developed for metering atmospheric gases and can handle both nitrogen and carbon dioxide and works in an extremely large dosing range of 1:1000.
Promix says the same system can be used for both small laboratory extruders — with dosing quantities of only a few grams/hr — to large production lines. The mass flow-controlled systems are extremely precise throughout their entire dosing range and work independently of the back pressure and ambient temperature, providing a very high level of reliability.
The NC350 is also said to be ideally suited for metering gases in the supercritical state. This was made possible by the development of a high-precision inert gas dosing module with sophisticated control technology, specially optimized for use in foam extrusion.

The system is said to be simple to operate as a result of a clearly arranged touchscreen controller and provides high precision of gas dosing regardless of the external boundary conditions. Start-up times are shortened and quality problems due to lack of process consistency are eliminated.
