Handheld NIR Instrument Distinguishes PET from PETG
Mobile spectroscopy from trinamiX detects more than 30 different plastics—and now PET vs. PETG as an aid to recycling.

The BASF subsidiary , which supplies mobile spectroscopy instruments, offers a handheld NIR device that now can identify standard PET vs. PETG copolyester. Both resins are used in blow molded packaging, so clean separation of the two is important for recycling. The upgraded Mobile NIR Spectroscopy Solution from trinamiX, which identifies more than 30 types of plastics, was displayed at the recent K 2022 show in Düsseldorf. trinamiX also launched a new for simplified ordering: plasticsshop.trinamiXsensing.com.
