K 2022: High-Performance Bucket Mold Targets Faster Cycles
Heavy-wall container molds, coinjection for post-consumer recyclate and more on tap from Top Grade Molds in Düsseldorf.
Top Grade Molds Ltd. will showcase its newest developments in mold technologies at K 2022, specifically high-performance industrial packaging for pails and buckets, as well as co-injection technology to address Post-Consumer Recycling (PCR) content. Regarding pails and buckets, Top Grade says it’s establishing new industry cycle time benchmarks for heavy wall containers. Regarding co-injection technology for PCR, the company says its working with molders to help satisfy or exceed legislation requirements now or in the near future to utilize recycled material in new products. At the show, the company will discuss a 5-gallon coinjected pail with a virgin polypropylene (PP) skin and PCR core. The goal for the patent-pending design is more than 30% fully encapsulated PCR content.
For thin-wall high-speed food packaging, Top Grade will discuss family stack tooling with features like in-mold labeling, modular mold changes, asymmetrical stack mold carriers, TGM X-Tri Seal, and the Dynamic Nozzle Seal valve gate hot runner.

Top Grade Molds will display coinjection technology, among other things, at K 2022.
