Less Power, Less Space Needed for Next-Generation DeDuster
New patent-pending half鈥恟ound cone technology is the foundation for new dedusting product.
Pelletron says new patent-pending half鈥恟ound cone technology is the foundation for its next generation dedusting product: the HR45 DeDuster. This new model will ultimately replace the XP45 DeDuster model that has long served the plastics processing and compounding industry in injection molding, extrusion and more.
The HR45 has an overall capacity of 10,000 lb/hr (4.5 tons/hr) for average bulk-density materials, including PE, PET, PC, PMMA, PA, and more. Pelletron says the advantages of the new HR45 DeDuster include reduced operating costs with 40 percent less power consumption, as well as reduced equipment costs thanks to smaller filters and cyclones—700 ft3/min versus 1100 ft3/min.
Additional equipment cost reductions stem from the automatic inlet flow control feature that eliminates the need of a rotary valve to control the solids flow rate into the system. Flange-to-flange height has been reduced from 0.8 to 0.6 m, allowing the HR45 to fit into smaller spaces.
The company says less carryover in the HR45 means easier cleaning while the “no-tools” access viewing window eases maintenance.
