Matting Agent Designed for Engineering Resin Automotive and Other Types of Components
CAI Performance Additives’ ST-B50T is effective in ABS, PC/ABS, PC/ASA and PC/PBT.

A matting agent that is said to be a new and effective way to achieve a matte finish or lower gloss of plastics parts is now available from CAI Performance Additives, the sole distributor of high-performance additives produced by China’s Starbetter Chemical Materials.
ST-B50T has been shown to be effective in engineering resins ABS, PC/ABS, PC/ASA and PC/PBT alloy, where it offers a number of advantages over other matting additives or opacifiers, according to CAI. This includes its ability to achieve extremely low glossiness, its mild impact on mechanical properties, and its broad range of applications, ranging from interior and exterior automotive components and home appliance parts to electronic and medical devices and consumer goods.

Polymer Science for Those Who Work With Plastics: Why Entanglements — Not Just Molecular Weight — Drive Plastic Performance
Ever try running your fingers through tangled hair? Yeah … that’s not fun, but that’s what happens at the molecular level when polymer chains reach the right length. They wrap around each other, intertwine and … get stuck — and those tangles are the real reason plastics perform the way they do.
