New Hot Runner Temperature Control
Oerlikon HRSflow’s T-Flow HRS control has launched with three models that are configurable to multiples of six zones.
Oerlikon HRSflow introduced the new T-Flow HRS hot runner temperature control units at NPE2024. Launched with three models, the modular systems are configurable to multiples of six zones. The T-Flow HRS’ control combines an integrated touchscreen, clear text display and intuitive navigation via guided operation.
The integrated LED strip displays operating status with green, yellow and red signals. Recipes and test reports can be installed and transferred via the integrated USB port, while data is exchanged with the injection molding machine via the OPC UA interface in accordance with the new Euromap 82.2 standard protocol for hot runner controllers. The integrated VNC server also enables operation via web-enabled notebook, smartphone or tablet.
Featuring precision nozzle temperature control, the T-Flow HRS can be used for a range of jobs, including demanding high-performance applications with small and compact nozzles. The modular design enables flexible configuration and, in terms of heating options, there is simultaneous heating of all zones with definable temperature deviation, sequential heating or a combination of both. Gentle heating or soft start is also available. Several zones can be grouped and parameterized as one, and recipe management enables different recipes to be saved, stored, compared and quickly recalled.
Designed for efficiency and energy saving, the T-Flow HRS features external heat sinks for continuous heat dissipation and an integrated timer function that enables the outputs to be switched on and off automatically on certain days and at certain times. In addition, the auto standby function improves energy efficiency by managing the controller’s standby mode.
In terms of process monitoring, the T-Flow HRS’ thermodynamic analysis (TSA) compares the thermodynamic state of the mold with a defined state previously saved as a reference. Plastic leaks can be detected during operation, with measures taken in the event of a sensor break. In case of an alarm, the integrated service and support system provides instructions to identify the location of the problem and guide the operators to a resolution. In addition, a service file stores all the necessary information for fault analysis if a problem cannot be rectified and further technical support is required. Created with one click, the file can be emailed to technical support to carry out an analysis based on the data.
