Testing: FTIR Spectrophotometer with More Versatility & Reliability
Shimadzu’s IRSpririt is the smallest and lightest FTIR unit from the company.
A new FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectrophotometer that reportedly provides unmatched functionality in its class of compact instrument has been launched by Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI). The IRSpirit, the smallest and lightest FTIR unit from Shimatzu, is also said to offer exceptional reliability in contaminant analysis, identification tests and quantitative measurements.
The user-friendly IRSpirit comes with an IR Pilot assistant program—an identification test program and a contaminant analysis program. This program is comprised of 23 applications that give analysts the ability to measure samples or print results with a few mouse clicks. IR Pilot is said to allow operators with minimal analytical knowledge to obtain results quickly by selecting that accessory and sample form.
The unit accommodates existing Shimadju and third-party accessories such as ATR and diffuse reflectance, as well as transmission accessories such as KBr pellet holder and demountable cells. This instrument includes a sealed interferometer that protects the beam splitter from both air and moisture and also houses electrical humidity and paper-based indicators, which work in tandem with LabSolutions IR software to help users easily monitor the status of the unit in high-humidity environments.Related Content
