A new vision system is designed to give 100% real-time quality inspection of caps and closures. The MMC-QTVision (Quality Through Vision) system from , Laval, Que., displays images of rejects detected over the last 12 hr and lets you scroll through a record of reject occurrences over the last 12 hr. The color touchscreen provides reject statistics at a glance, including the incidence of different types of rejects. The system can detect missing or misplaced liners, broken or missing tamper-evident bands, partial cuts, ovality, surface defects, and foreign debris, and can even provide optional character recognition. It will be running on the show floor.
